Central Valley Ride Sharing : Since 1984 the Council of Fresno County Governments has run the Central Valley Ridesharing (CVR) program. CVR’s mission is to find ways of easing traffic congestion and and emissions related air pollution in the San Joaquin Valley.

All of the services and information we provide are free of charge to commuters, employers and other organizations. CVR’s ridematching database currently covers Fresno, Kings, Madera and Tulare Counties. Central Valley Ridesharing is considered a Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Agency.

The goal of TDM is to reduce as many single occupant vehicles from the road as possible, by encouraging commuters to use another form of transportation such as bicycling, carpooling, vanpooling, walking or public transit. Or to avoid commuting at all by telecommuting and teleconferencing.

How to get a carpool or vanpool rolling: First, call Central Valley Ridesharing at (559) 441-7433 for a free, computerized matchlist. Your list will have the names and phone numbers of people who live by you, work by you, and have a similar schedule.
