Bass Lake
The emerald waters of Bass Lake offer endless outdoor recreational activities.
Boating, water sports, fishing and hiking trails are just a few of the family-fun activities found at Bass Lake. Camping, lodging and dining are also available.
Bass Lake is located north of Fresno in the Sierra Nevada mountains off of Hwy. 41 near Oakhurst and Yosemite National Park.
Courtright Reservoir
Experience awe-inspiring granite at this spectacular place. In a land of glaciated domes and alpine Sierra bliss, this beautiful valley compares to Yosemite with its impressive natural features. The reservoir itself is noted as California’s loveliest.

Lake Edison
Treat yourself to a great vacation at Lake Edison in the High Sierra, where there is camping, boating and fishing. Features clean accommodations and homecooked meals.
Trails in the area lead to beautiful backcountry lakes, streams and meadows.
Other popular activities in this area include horseback riding and hiking.

Hume Lake
Located in the Sequoia National Forest at an elevation of 5,200 feet, Hume Lake is an 85-acre man-made lake. It’s great place to camp, hike and fish. And because motorized boats are not allowed on the lake, it is a nice destination for canoeing or kayaking.
From Ten Mile Creek Road, turn into the Sandy Beach area and continue to the end, near the dam, for easy canoe or kayak launching and parking.

Huntington Lake
Huntington Lake, at an elevation of 7,000 feet, is truly a sailor’s paradise. From June to September, southerly winds blow with daily predictability (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and make the lake a haven for sailing and windsurfing. Camping, fishing, hiking, crosscountry and downhill skiing, as well as snowmobiling, are popular here. Horseback riding pack trips are available.

Millerton Lake State Recreation Area
Located 20 miles northeast of Fresno on Friant Road, Millerton Lake State Recreation Area is excellent for fishing, sailing, picnics, camping and water recreation.

Pine Flat Lake
Island Park Campground has 97 campsites at $16 ($8 seniors and handicapped with Golden Age/Access Passport) per night year-round.
Located 35 miles east of Fresno, follow Belmont Avenue east to Trimmer Springs Road.
Also available are two full-service marinas, boat rentals, fishing, hiking and water skiing.

Shaver Lake
This resort area has it all: camping, fishing, sailing, motor boating, four-wheeling and horse pack trips in the summer and cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter. Services include lodging and cabin rentals, restaurants and shopping.
Shaver Lake, at an approximate elevation of 5,500 feet, is 52 miles northeast of Fresno on Highway 168.
