Hikes for History #5 - Kaiser Pass
Central Sierra Historical Society & Museum
42642 Tollhouse Rd Shaver Lake, CA 93664
About This Event
Kaiser Pass – Meg Tallberg & Ed Hampton, Leaders This hike will be both interesting and beautiful. We will be hiking at the top of Kaiser Pass (elevation 9,184’). Because we will be at elevation, this hike will be on the easy-end. We will learn about this road and why it was constructed. We will talk about Jerry Dwyer and why he was so important to the construction of the dam at Florence and the Ward Tunnel. The group will go to the White Bark Overlook for lunch. This overlook has a spectacular view of the back country.
Hikers should meet at the museum on 10:00 a.m. the day of the hike. Please bring a picnic lunch and bottled water. We hope you can join us!
